چکیده
In Iraq, the increase in earthquake activity was observed, but most of existing buildings can still suffer from severe injury or destruction, and therefore cause major issues. this paper, we performed numerically analyses by experimental modeling to demonstrate efficiency using final element analysis (FEA) development modern solutions maintain structures risk earthquakes. Flexural Strengthening of Deficient Reinforced Concrete Beams with Post-Tensioned Carbon Composites using Finite Element Modelling
The application of external post-tensioned steel bars as an effective way to strengthen an existing bridge has been so far used in many different countries. In recent decades, however, they have been replaced by bars made from Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), as a material with high tensile strength and corrosion resistance, to address several concerns with steel bars such as their appli...
متن کاملFull Scale Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Joints Strengthened with Steel Reinforced Polymer Systems
This paper presents the results of an experimental campaign performed at the Laboratory of Materials and Structural Testing of the University of Salerno (Italy) in order to investigate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column joints strengthened with steel reinforced polymer (SRP) systems. With the aim to represent typical façade frames’ beam-column subassemblies found in...
متن کاملA Numerical Approach for the Seismic Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Structures Environmentally Damaged and Cable-strengthened
The paper deals with a numerical analusis for the seismic response of reinforced concrete structures containing cable elements. The cable behaviour is considered as nonconvex and nonmonotone one and is described by generalized subdifferential relations including loosening, elastoplastic fracturing etc. effects. The problem is treated incrementally by double discretization: in space by finite el...
متن کاملNonlinear finite element analyses of FRP-strengthened reinforced concrete slabs using a new layered composite plate element
A new layered 4-node, 24-degrees of freedom rectangular composite plate element is developed in this paper for nonlinear finite element analyses of FRP-strengthened RC slabs. The layered approach is used to form an integrated plate element for modelling of concrete, FRP, adhesive layer and steel reinforcement with a perfect bond assumption between each layer. Timoshenko’s composite beam functio...
متن کاملstudy of behavior of reinforced concrete beams with smart rebars using finite element modeling
in this paper the response of cantilevered reinforced concrete (rc) beams with smart rebars under static lateral loading has been numerically studied, using finite element method. the material used in this study is superelasticshape memory alloys (se smas) which contains nickel and titanium elements. the se sma is a unique alloy that has the ability to undergo large deformations and return to t...
